Looking for ancestors of JOHN MORRIS b about 1765 place unknown,
d about 1845 in Coosa or Taladega County, Alabama. Had lived in Tenn. in
late 1700's and early 1800's. Per 1830 census lived in Bibb County,
Alabama
and in 1840 lived in Coosa County. In 1850 census JOHN MORRIS'S
son, BAILES MORRIS(age 44, b Tenn.), Wife, JANE NORTHCUT (daughter of
JOHN
NORTHCUT of Bibb County)(age 38 b Tenn)and 9 children being:

Susan Harmon, daughter of Lucinda and Jacob Harmon, married James
Franklin. I would like more information on exactly where Susan died.
Also, Permelia C., Susan's sister, married Bernard Schmidt. Would also

Harmon was the daughter of Ignatious Nathan Gann, a Rev War soldier of

I am searching for proof of a marriage between Isaac Daniel MOODY and
Susie HOLMES WESTBROOK. Susie Holmes was married to a Mr. Westbrook, who
was a soldier in the Spanish American war. She received notification
that he was killed, so she later remarried to Isaac Daniel MOODY. Mr.
Westbrook returned home at the end of the war.
I would like verification of this story and any other information anyone
would like to share. This would have been in the early 1900's in
Talladega Co. (or possibly Clay Co.)

John Leach b.c1849 m. Dialphia Handly both are buried in Tallassehatchie
Cemt. Talladega. They had 4 children Lucy b. unk m. J.Edward Sycamore
they had 9children. Elba b. unk m. Barnaba Hollins they had 3 children
Emma b. unk m. Ed Matchen they had 4 children . William W.Leach b. 1872
d. 1941 m. Hixie Josephine Morris.
Any information on the above people I would appreciate. They are all

Need data on William PARNELL, b. SC in 1800; m. Nancy Agnes ABLES, b. SC.
Moved to Alabama via Hall County Georgia in about 1860. Family tradition
says William was from County Armagh, Ireland, and came to US with two
brothers. Have been unable to prove or disprove, but on 1860, 1870
Census William said he and his father was born in SC. Sure would like to
put this story to rest. All help will be acknowledged and information

I am seeking information on Ezeakial Strickland born 1809 in SC; married
Jane Dillard (daughter of Samuel Dillard and Elizabeth Reid) on 16 Dec
1841 in chatooga County GA; lived in Calhoun/Benton County AL and in 1847
traveled to Clark County Arkansas with several Strickland and Dillard
families; they stayed in AR until at least 1859 when the eighth of their
10 children was born; they returned to Talledega County and were living

I would appreciate any information on the surnames NALL and
BUTTERWORTH in Talladega Co Ala durning the times of 1850 to 1910.
James G Nall b 1845 Ga married Elizabeth Butterworth Nall b 1846 GA.
Elizabeth Butterworth is listed as Mrs Elizabeth Nall on the marriage
document in 1865. There is speculation that she had been married
to another Nall who may have died in Civil War. Both James Nall and
Elizabeth are associated with the Antioch Baptist Church in Talladega Co.
Their children are: Celesta, M Emma, Tom J, M Ellen, William Clem,

HELP!! Looking for father of CHARLES IRWIN THOMPSON b. Aug. 25, 1844
Cawlizah, Talladega Co. Al. He married (1) Margaret (Loflin ?) Sept. 30,
1869. (2) MARY ROZELLE m. after april of 1910. Would like any help in
locating
Margarett's madian name. Believe CHARLES IRWIN'S fathers name was also
CHARLES. He married TEMPERENCE "TEMPY" PHILLIPS Nov. 22,
1831, Walton Co. GA. Tempy was born circ. 1815-17 in GA Moved to Alabama
year unknown.

Searching for information on James W. Leach b. abt 1825 in Georgia,
married Sarah Watkins on January 2nd, 1840 in Forsyth County, Georgia.
They had 5 children in Georgia and moved to Talladega County, Alabama abt
1855. The 1860 Talladega County Census shows a male child about 2 years
old. The name is Pestilla Washington we are sure of the spelling. Only 4
of the children show up on the census so I am trying to find where the
rest of the children are. I alot of information and I am at a brick wall
trying to find the burial place of James W. and Sarah. The most part of
the family is buried in Tallasachatie Cemt. and Rocky Mtn. Any
information or guides as to where to go to would be helpful. Thank you.
This is my 3gr grandparents. My 2gr grandparents were John B. Leach and
Dialphia Handley My Gr grandparents are William Washington Leach and
Josie P. Morris. My grandfather was Fred Emerson Leach and Zora Mae

I am looking for any information that may be available on the parentage
of my great-grandfather. His name was Thaddeus David Woodard, born on 3
October 1861 in Alabama. He married Mary Anna Dark of Tallapoosa County
on 19 December 1886. Thaddeus David (T.D.) and Mary Anna had several
children, including my grandfather, Percy Perry (Sr.), who was born in
Anniston, Calhoun County, on 22 June 1900. They subsequently moved to
Texas following the birth of my grandfather. I am trying to find out any
information possible on the name of T.D.'s father, which has been lost to
history as far as I know. Any information on the Woodard line would also
be greatly appreciated.

I'm still looking for my great grandfather, John L. Thomas and his
family, wife - supposedly named Belinda F. Thomas. John was born in 1820
in Georgia and Belinda in 1822 in Georgia. John fought and died in the
Civil War - now,whether it was in Georgia or Alabama, that I don't know.
My grandmother was a Susanna Americus Melvina Thomas, born in 1850, also
supposedly in Georgia. She married John Fleming Gilbert. Now, I know
that John Fleming Gilbert was born in 1848 in Tallapoosa Co., Alabama,
but I don't know how he and Susanna got together. John Fleming Gilbert's
parents were William Gilbert and Drusilla Canady Gilbert. They were both
born in 1815, Drusilla in GA and William, either GA or TN. Looking for
information on any of these people - Surnames: Thomas, Gilbert and
Canady. Any help will be truly appreciated.

I am researching Madison P. Hayes, born abt. 1812 TN, married Malinda?
abt 1832, AL. His brother John lived next door in all census. Madison and
Malinda had 9 girls and 2 boys. His daughters, Julia married Isaac Moxley
and Sarah married John A. Moxley (Isaac's father) John's first wife was
Nancy Amanda Byars. I believe these Hayes'es to be related to the Hayes's
from GA, also living in Talladega. Does anyone have any info?

WOODWARD who moved from Fairfield County, SC to Talledega
County prior to the Civil War. He was a lawyer and state
representative. He died while commanding the 10th Ala Inf
in Virginia and was buried in Fairfield County, SC.
