There parents were Robert and Jane (?) BOWMAN.
Taylor BOWMAN was in the 1870 Talladega Co., AL census
as a single person and I believe the Martha wtih whom

Can anyone give me
some information on the JOHN LEDBETTER (b. 1812 Tenn.) & his wife
ELIZABETH (-----?-----) (b. 1815 N.C.). They lived in Talladega Co.
from c1840 (Census) through c1880 (Census). When & where did they
die, and where buried?
JOHN & ELIZABETH LEDBETTER had a son, JOHN (b. c1845) who md. SUSAN
EMELINE FULMER, dau. of MANUEL & SARAH (HAYES) FULMER of S.C. JOHN
& SUSAN EMELINE (FULMER) LEDBETTER moved to Walker Co. (Mt. Carmel
Twshp.), where they died.
JOHN LEDBETTER (b. 1812, Tenn.) had a brother WILLIAM M. LEDBETTER (b.
1814 Tenn.) whose wife was PHOEBE JOHNSON/STON (b. 1826 Tenn.), who moved
from Bradley Co., Tenn., to Talladega Co., Ala., to Chattooga Co., Ga.
(Trion Twshp.) just below the JOHN & SUSAN EMELINE LEDBETTER lived.
I think JOHN (b. 1812) & WILLIAM (b.1814) are brothers, and that
their father was GEORGE LEDBETTER. Can anyone help me to prove or
disprove this?

After the Civil War they went to Clark County(later Pike),AR. The census
taker in Talladega County in 1860 did not bother
to write down the full correct christian names of the people he listed.
He just wrote down initials instead of first names
making it all but impossible to know who anyone was or to be able to know
how they might be related.I am looking for CLARKS

I am looking for any information about
Moses BRASHER and son Esom Terrence BRASHER. Moses had two male children
older than Esom. When Esom joined Company C 10th Alabama Infantry of the
CSA, an Arthur Manning BRASHER and a Zedic S. BRASHER joined with him in
Talladega County. Zedic was born in 1830 and Arthur Manning was born in
1835. These agree with the data from the 1840 census. Both of Esom's
older brothers were born between 1830 and 1835. Esom was born in 1837.
Moses originally got land April 1, 1837 in Shelby County just northwest
of Wilsonville. Later that year he got 40 acres in Talladega County
adjoining a Thomas R. BRASHER and a Henry BRASHER. This Henry and Thomas
R. also had land in Shelby County. Just before the civil war started,
Moses and Zedic came back to Shelby County and got 120 acres and 40 acres
respectively just north of Columbiana. This was in 1858. Another
interesting fact is the first land Moses got in Shelby County was next to
John LYON. The Brashers in Talladega got land next to a William
MCPHEARSON. When Moses and Zedic came back to Shelby County, they got
their land adjoining a Benjamin LYON. I am not aware of what the LYON
connection is if any. My primary desire is to find out where my Moses
came from. His wife's name in the census data says Rachel, but the family
legend says she was Caroline, a Creek indian. I beg help from any and
all. Thanks in advance.
